Sophie is a London-based ceramicist who makes wheel thrown ceramics for people to look at, use and enjoy. She throws on a potters wheel, exploring the balance between the robustness of clay and how hand movements combine with the power of the wheel to create and shape the dynamics of a ceramic work. She is also interested in surface and the tactile experience of holding a pot, and her work often incorporates elements of texture and pattern.Every piece - big or small - is a handmade one off.
